3. Supergirl, “Both Sides Now” (Feb 5th)

This episode starts putting pieces of the series together, but not in the most coherent way. The necessity of Purity (aka Space Canary) and her quick snaps between personalities don’t line up with what we know of Reign. Alex and Kara’s good-cop bad-cop struggle feels forced, especially as Alex pushed Kara to be more caring at the start of the season. Mon-El’s sudden reveal of his arranged marriage is a rather cheap tactic to reignite his relationship with Kara. There hasn’t been enough build-up to justify the emotional states of characters like Alex or Mon-El, which makes this episode less powerful.

SCORE: 6.5/10 Martian Moonshine Bottles
